How it works

Drop the file. Map the columns. Done.

  1. 1

    Export your spreadsheet

From Google Sheets, Excel, or whatever tool holds your data today, export to CSV. If your data lives in QuickBooks, Xero, Wave, or HoneyBook, those tools all export to CSV too.

  2. 2

    Drop it into Wrenbase

Upload the file. Wrenbase reads the headers and shows a preview of the first few rows so you can confirm the data looks right.

  3. 3

Map your columns to Wrenbase fields

Tell Wrenbase which column is the amount, which is the date, which is the customer name. The column names you used don't have to match ours.

  4. 4

Save the mapping for next time

Once you've mapped a file shape, save it as a template. The next time you import from the same source, the mapping is already done, so you just drop the file.

  5. 5

    Review and import

Wrenbase shows you what will be created and flags any duplicates or rows that need a closer look. Confirm, and the data lands in your account.

Common starting points

Where your data lives today.

A Google Sheet

Open the sheet. File → Download → CSV. Drop it into Wrenbase. Same flow for Excel files.

QuickBooks or Xero

Both export your customers, vendors, and invoice history to CSV. Wrenbase imports those exports.

Wave, HoneyBook, FreshBooks

Each has a CSV export for the data you care about. Bring your existing records with you.

Etsy, Amazon, Shopify

Each platform's standard sales or payout report is a CSV. Drop in, map the columns, every row becomes a transaction.

Payment processor payouts

Export the payout or transactions report from Stripe, PayPal, or Square as CSV. Useful for backfilling payments that never ran through a billing tool.

Legacy or in-house system

If your customer and transaction data lives in an older ERP or a system you built yourself, export what it holds to CSV and bring it in. Send us the shape and we help you map it.

Common questions

Quick answers.

What can I import into Wrenbase?
Customers, vendors, invoices, and past transactions. If it lives in a spreadsheet or exports to CSV, you can bring it in and pick up where you left off.
What file format do I need?
CSV. Export from Google Sheets, Excel, QuickBooks, Xero, Wave, HoneyBook, or your phone contacts, and drop the file in.
Do my column names have to match Wrenbase's?
No. You map your columns to Wrenbase fields once, telling it which column is the amount, the date, the customer name, and it remembers the mapping so the next import from the same source is one step.
What happens to duplicates?
Before anything is created, Wrenbase shows you a preview and flags duplicates or rows that need a closer look. You confirm, then the data lands in your account.
What if my file doesn't fit the standard types?
Send it to us. If your export has a custom layout or a shape we haven't seen, email it over and we'll help you get it in. Your history shouldn't start at zero.
Is there a fee to import?
It depends on the shape of the job. A standard CSV import you run yourself is included, so getting off a spreadsheet costs nothing. A larger or more involved migration, high data volume, a custom or legacy source, or a continuous ongoing sync rather than a one-time load, is scoped with you. Tell us what you are bringing in and how it needs to move, and we will be straight about what it takes.

Your history comes with you.

Free to start. Bring your data in and pick up where you left off, at any scale.
